Youth

The “Solar is ours –Youth Program” Solar Technician & Entrepreneur scheme targets unemployed young people.

The Solar is Ours programme highlights two key priorities, youth & unemployment. Specifically, the program creates vital access to clean energy technology by building and extending the supply chain through  youth networks.

The GeNNex Blueprint aims to empower communities by making them more financially independent through awareness of renewable energy and its benefits.

All skills acquired within the programme are transferable as any commercial enterprise will see benefits from inclusion of the entrepreneurial 'best practices' provided.  After completion of the programme, the goal is for participants to expand current business ventures or to give them the confidence to start their own new business.

The Programme outputs:

  • Participants see renewable energy in a positive light and share the knowledge with members of their  community.

  • Participants create a steady income through sale and installation of the products which are purchased and used in their immediate and surrounding communities.

  • Participants transfer their ideas into a business with the skills learnt through the training to sell other solar products. Participants defuse the idea of solar energy into the community as a force for good in order to demystify the idea that solar is expensive  and to help alleviate the cost of network power

  • Training of trainer’s model.

  • To motivate female technicians and show a viable income stream through technology.
